Odoo 17 to Odoo 20 migration — move off an unsupported version in one project.

Odoo 17 reached its planned end of standard support in September 2026. We take you straight to Odoo 20 — three versions of changes in one project — with your custom modules rebuilt and your data validated.

What changes from Odoo 17 to 20

An upgrade isn’t a copy-paste. Here’s what actually has to be done — and what we handle for you.

Three versions of framework changes handled in one project.

Access-rights changes in Odoo 20 — custom security rules are checked and adapted.

Field Service is now part of Planning — reports, automations and dispatch flows move to Planning shifts.

Accounting renames (payment statuses, parent accounts) — custom reports and filters updated.

Integrations on the older external API checked, with a plan for the newer JSON-2 API.

Your code and your data — both move

Most migrations only move your data and leave your customizations behind. We do both: your custom modules are rebuilt for Odoo 20, your full history is migrated and validated, and nothing goes live until you’ve signed off. Community or Enterprise, on-prem or odoo.sh.

Validated, record by record

Your database migration is checked at the record level with a full audit trail from source to target. Customers, invoices, transactions and history are reconciled against the original — no orphaned references, no dropped records. If a number doesn’t match, it doesn’t go live.

Migration questions, answered

Odoo no longer provides standard support for Odoo 17, so bug fixes, security fixes and localization updates stop. Your database keeps running, but the risk grows over time — especially for tax and payroll rules that change.

Yes. We migrate you to Odoo 20 in one project — you don’t need to step through Odoo 18 and 19. We handle the upgrade scripts and module changes for every version in between.

Odoo 20 gives you the longest support runway. Odoo 19 is a good target if an app or custom module you depend on isn’t ready for Odoo 20 yet. We don’t recommend Odoo 18 for new upgrades, because its standard support is planned to end in September 2027.

No. Every record is migrated and validated against the source, and nothing goes live until you’ve reviewed it.

We rebuild and test your customizations for Odoo 20 rather than dropping them — including security rules, reports and views affected by the new version.

It depends on the size of your database, how many custom modules need rebuilding, and which apps and integrations you use. After a free migration audit we give you a fixed quote, so the price doesn’t grow during the project. Odoo license fees are separate — see Odoo pricing.
